TESTIMONIALS
COACHING
"I have worked with Jess at two different stages over the past three years, and her support has been invaluable in helping me share my academic research with a broader community.
At first, we focused on identifying my target audience and understanding how to connect with them. This was a real challenge, but through a series of exercises, Jess guided me to unpack exactly who my audience is and how best to engage with them. That process was transformative when I released my first public-facing book, He reo tuku iho: Tangata whenua and te reo Māori, after previously writing mainly for academic audiences.
More recently, Jess has helped me extend my social media reach. She walked me through strategies for audience engagement and showed me how to use video content in ways I would never have achieved alone. Before working with her, most of my 135+ Instagram posts received 1,000–3,500 views. With her coaching and hands-on editing services, my average organic views increased by 974%.
The content Jess created immediately reached new audiences (without paid boosting), including international communities involved in language revitalisation. As a direct result, I was invited to an Irish language podcast (Irish with Mollie), connected with Indigenous peoples from around the world, and secured media opportunities with RNZ, TVNZ Breakfast, Marae, and The Guardian. I have also been invited to collaborate with other people on the platform connecting with new and larger communities.
I felt that Jess has been a great guide in this process, and it’s felt safe for me to work with her as a wahine Māori. She understands the “when and why” of my content – not just the “how”. I felt she understood the ethics around posting content as an indigenous academic.
I highly recommend Jess’s services for anyone wanting to get their message or research out to the right audience."

Join the workshop waitlist
Jessica’s workshops are tailored to meet specific needs. However, you can join the waitlist for an “Audience Engagement and Connection Workshop” below.
WHO: If you want to strengthen the connection you have with your audience our clients using storytelling – this is for you.
WHAT: You’ll get a personalised strategic plan for content creation and a greater awareness of your audience.
ABOUT:
If you have an aversion to creating content this is also one for you. Connecting with your audience doesn’t need to be a egotistical, “look at me” quest. It can be about meaningful service and connection.
In this one-day workshop Jessica will help you to identify your core audience, create 3 audience personas to help you plan for them, identify your goals to connect and serve them, and create a “story plan” for each persona.
There will also be discussions about how to make a content plan manageable for you and/or your team – however, some additional upskilling may be required for you to fully implement this plan. Having a good awareness of your skills in photography, copywriting, design, filming, and editing would be beneficial and/or the budget you’re willing to spend to outsource it.
